Equipment That is Essential When Playing Cricket

Cricket, the English national summer sport, is now played around the world, especially in Australia, India, Pakistan, the West Indies, and the British Isles. It can be played for both league and entertainment. Cricket is a great game for developing general strength, endurance, and hand-eye coordination. 

Cricket is a bat and ball game played between two teams, each with eleven players on a field, the center of which is a 22-yard field with a goal at each end, each with two weights on three stumps.  In this article, we will show you some necessary equipment that is essential when playing cricket.

Ball

The ball used in cricket is a leather-covered cork ball. Cricket balls are very hard and can injure the body, weighing between 155.9 grams to 163 grams. The two most common colors of cricket balls are red – used in Test cricket and First-Class cricket, and white – used in Day Matches.

Cricket Bat

Bat is a beautifully carved instrument made of special wood with a handle on the upper handle and playability. They vary according to the weight and size of the batsman’s age and needs. Cricket bats are made of flat wood with a maximum length of 96.5 cm. The width of these bats is limited to 10.8 cm. Although there is no standard weight, most bats range from 1.2 kilograms to 1.4 kilograms. 

Helmet

Helmets have become a necessity for cricket players in recent decades and it is important that we use them for the safest possible stay when batting! Helmets are also used by goalies when they are close to stumps and can be used by anyone in the field near the bat. 

The helmets you see in cricket consist of a rigid “shell” that covers the top of the head and forehead, as well as a grid that protects the face and side of the head. The latest additions to helmet designs include a “voice protector” that can be attached to the back of the helmet and used to further protect the upper neck/back of the head.

Batting Pads

Cricket pads are first used to protect the knees and buttocks in the event of a blow. It is attached to the front of the lower legs with a Velcro strap and has bowed at the bottom to enclose the player’s shoes well.

Of course, hitting a cricket requires a lot of movement, so the pads should be as comfortable as possible. The highest quality pads can protect us and keep our lower legs safe, as well as keep them feeling light, so they are easy to bathe and walk. but it’s definitely worth it if you appreciate the free movement of the fold. 

Gloves

Gloves are very necessary equipment that is essential when playing cricket. Batsmen and conscripts have different gloves. The batsmen had very strong on the tips of all five fingers compared to the thin goal gloves. Goalkeeper gloves have fingers with ribs to catch the ball.

Cricket Shoes

It is important to get the right cricket shoes. Playing cricket in the wrong type of shoe can lead to injury and also reduce a player’s effectiveness. Cricket players use special cricket boots that are very similar to standard sneakers. The difference is that special cricket boots are more durable and offer players great support. 

They also often have spikes at the bottom, which is especially important when playing outside the goal of real grass. Pitchers can also buy shoes made especially for them, which provide more gut support and extra power transfer.
